Majortel AC Mains Supplement
The Majortel 2U power system has the capability to accept AC mains input using a single or double power source. Applicable product numbers include: MTS48/50AT-2U, MTS48/75AT-2U, MTS48/100AT-2U
- If using a single AC main input source to supply power to all four rectifiers, the buss work (shown as B1 and B2 in the referenced illustration) should remain intact. One set of terminals would only be required using L1, L2 and PE (Earthed ground).
- It is also noted that this power shelf accepts single phase input source(s) only. Single phase in this application can be identified as Line, Neutral, Ground or Line, Line, Ground in 120Vac or 208/240Vac sources. (Some may note Line, Line, Ground installation as “split-phase” rather than single phase)
- If using two AC mains input sources, the pieces of buss work (B1 and B2) will need to be removed.
- Each set of terminals will supply power to a pair of rectifier modules. The set of terminals to the left of the ground (facing the rear of the shelf) will supply power to rectifier modules 2 & 4. The set of terminals to the right of the ground screw (facing rear of shelf) will supply power to rectifier modules 1 & 3.
SAFETY NOTICE:
IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO REMOVE THE BUSS WORK CONNECTIONS FOR DUAL AC MAINS INPUT SOURCES. IF THE BUSS WORK IS NOT REMOVED AND TWO DIVERSITY AC SOURCES ARE CONNECTED, IT WILL CREATE AN OUT-OF-PHASE SITUATION THAT WILL DESTROY THE EQUIPMENT AND CAUSE POTENTIAL INJURY TO INSTALLERS.
